Ari perched on a high branch, watching the boy and centaur. The child was unusual, for a human. He didn’t seem to know or understand how humans were supposed to act. No human Ari had ever seen cared about anything besides what a non-human could provide for them. No human had ever seen them as thinking beings in her experience. They hardly seemed to get along with each other, in fact.

She decided to continue to watch the boy before bringing him before the council. She would see what he did to the centaur. It may be that he was one of the ones they were looking for, but then again it may not. The moment he showed his true colors – whether it was betraying the centaur or harming another being – she would kill him.
